The Web gives creative people a potential audience of millions, as well as countless venues to display their creations. But that's not how things turned out. Web video isn't an oligarchy, it's a dictatorship. You're either on YouTube or nobody's watching. Interesting points in the article... But in the end, the author is jumping the gun, big time. YouTube has only been around since 2005, so he's making some pretty heavy claims based on just 2 years of market observations. There's definitely formidable competition to YouTube, and although not matching its market share, these competitors need some time to grow. Let's talk 2 years from now.
