Another figure in this scene worth looking up is Aubrey De Grey... he just came out with his book ENDING AGING. A fascinating read about biotechnologies that might remove the cellular and molecular buildup caused by metabolism over time leading to pathology and "age-related symptoms"... he speaks of generations living thousands of years... we'll toast to that... We are the species that overcome biological limitations. We go beyond.

Unfortunately, by the time they master bio engineering, my body and brain will be so decrepit, I don't know if I would want to live forever. It won't be paradise to live as an old man when everyone around me is forever young. The aged will really be second class citizens. Also, you would have to study continually to keep up with technology and keep yourself employable.

This was a very personal project... more of a abstract art film and meditation. It's not airing on Current TV, but still showcases some of our sensibilities. A lot of the ideas were inspired after reading Alan Harrington's "The Immortalist".... It's out of print, but a profound philosophical work. Recommended!!!
