Redlight Nightmare

Plisko

This Pod is inspired by an ongoing discussion on this subject that can be found HERE

Current claims that more people want the option to redlight videos than those who don't. That's why it's been forced on us all. Lets vote on that right now. If you like the redlight system, redlight this pod. If you think the redlight system is harming this community then greenlight this Pod. Let's let people know once and for all what we think.

PRODUCERS NOTE:

Thanks everyone for making this pod number 1! I'm glad I'm not alone in my passion about Current.

    • Thanks for still appreciating this video and it's message guys. For what it's worth, the community made this video number 1 at the time, proving that the red lights were very unpopular. Current had metrics and stuff saying they knew better, they ignored everyone and did what they wanted, I ended up withdrawing my participation and contributions from Current, they could have cared less. My leaving was bigger than just the red lights, they abandoned the REAL user contribution system all together shortly after and came up with this bastardized, version of what Current TV once was. I haven't been back in ages. . Till you guys brought this post back to life. Nice to know some people still see the problem I saw 3 years ago. . .

Thanks again, good luck finding anyone who cares more than their lip service as community manager. . . Whoever the poor sod is with that job now. . .

. . .not that Im bitter or anything. . .

    • Torpedoed down, for the irony and lulz.

No, just kidding. I actually agree. Whether voting up or down, there is potential for abuse. But the downvote gives the ability for people to create endless sockpuppets and simply sabotage someone they don't like just out of spite.

(a sockpuppet is a user account created specifically for trolling. Sometimes people will have several on one site in the attempt to masquerade as different people)

    • This is still a current issue and should not be forgotten. Unconstructive uncommenting redlighters are detrimental to the whole idea of the user contributions.

Cowardinance and negativity should not be encouraged!
