For all you mac users who think you are safe from viruses, think again. Apple has confirmed that the first Trojan virus written for macs has appeared on the net. If installed, it allows the malware's user to take over you Macintosh computer.

    • Just out of curiosity, this is what, two, maybe three malicious programs made to function against the apple operating systems, and windows has a couple of thousand at the least.

I still think I'm better off getting an apple when I replace this windows XP latop of mine.

    • "On Halloween, professional online criminals were found using Trojan-horse software to target, for the first time, computers running Apple's OS X operating system -- just as they have been doing for years on the more ubiquitous flavors of Windows."

    • INACCURATE! THIS IS NOT A VIRUS! THIS IS MALWARE!

Malware has been around for a time. You have to make the choice and install the software. This is the users fault.

A virus still cannot penetrate OS X without having to have the user themselves install it, which is a six step process, counting the mounting of the .dmg and the three "are you sure" messages.

If anyone gets this, it's their own fault
