Even better for the planet than biodiesel.
Sorry about all the ads and incontinuity, I wasn't sure how else to post it.
The message is excellent, though, and it's short.
Thanks.
P.S. Oops, I just realized all the videos play by clicking the first link.

Cove, I find your stance on biodiesel confusing. The planet would benefit from fewer people driving regardless of the fuel in the vehicle. Oil will be consumed at the maximum rate until it's all gone. If America converts to biodiesel (assuming it's possible) China, India, etc. will ramp up their oil consumption. So biodiesel (assuming it's not created with fossil fuels) does nothing to better the planet, in fact, it damages the Earth more then the all the hummer drivers combined. Regardless of the source, creating biodiesel is damaging in production and consumption, If you want I can go into great detail about each one, but first you need to clarify your stance.

It is not the solution, but every little bit helps.
Biodiesl does, however, have the potential to offer significant help.
Algae seems the most promising, but there are other sources as well, hemp for example.
One thing I know is not good though, is biodiesel from food crops, like soy, or from palom oil. Ethanol from food crops like corn is an even worse idea, and it's too bad America is going down that road.
You're right, jinkies, not driving would be the best.

How much fuel does the average driver consume a day; two to three gallons.
How much spent veggie oil is created per person per day; one to two tablespoons.
How is this a logical solution to our fuel needs.
Biodiesel is designed to give motorists a feel good, warm fuzzy feeling, so they don't do something truely ecological like sell their car.

If your exhaust smells like what you are burning it isn't a clean burn. I wonder if many, many people using it would cause a road hazard from build up? I want an electric car.

This lady must only be using only B5 (5% biodiesel/95% petroleum diesel), because my 2006 CRD Liberty has been to the shop twice for fuel injector replacement. In only 5,000 miles!!!!!!! The first time was covered by warranty, but the second time set me back $1,500! :( :( :( :( :( :(
Admittedly, I was using 100% biodiesel, but it was good fuel. The same fuel powered my VW Jetta for 35,000 miles with no problems. Boy do I miss my TDI sometimes, it felt good to be running on 100% reclaimed restaurant waste oil.
Oh wait, I just remembered that I got rid of it because it had toxic material that I couldn't get rid of. It's a long story and expensive, I'll spare you details. I might bore you with a POD on it later. :)
Now the reason why I wrote this post (long story longer).
Marilynn_Murray, even though I've done many tanks of just petroleum diesel and changed fuel filters a couple of times, my exhaust still smells like a Chinese restaurant or burger joint. The car never smells like grease, though just the exhaust. I like the smell, but I don't like the price tag (repairs). The dealer will still warranty me if I use B5, so when I stop fuming I'll tap the 250gallons of B100 in the driveway (sigh). I'm hitting up my friends to move the fuel, since using a 5% mix it would take me too long to use it.
We've talked about getting a hybrid, but I think another vehicle that could run 100% biodiesel would be more environmentally responsible.
Wish I could get the RAV4 EV, honestly. Electric vehicles are part of the solution.

I'm wondering how much residue cooking oil leaves after burning? I know that my kitchen walls get a cooking oil residue after a while.
