Amateur snappers threaten photography trade

Most people have a camera on their phone or certainly some sort of image-making device.
If you have a scanner, fast internet connection and permission from your subjects you can make money out of your pictures.

Photographers who provide 'stock' photographs (images that are commissioned for a commercial purpose) are worried because of the rising number of ordinary people selling their images. There's been a massive rise in the number of websites promoting this kind of thing one of which, 'Microstock', is discussed here.

    • Isn't that what current is all about? People who are tired of being feed lies from CNN and the popular media, and are ready for the average joe to step out and become not so average, and to have his/ or her own voice?

    • I found this instructional page on how to get set up for this sort of thing. Do you think it can actually be profitable? Unless they need lots of pictures of drunk college boys I may be out of luck....
