The 'Social Web Browser' Flock Hits Primetime

I'll admit, I had no idea what Flock was, or what a "social web browser" could possibly encompass, until I read this Wired article and decided to give it a try.

I have to say, I'm impressed. It integrates a ton of things into Flock. I like having my del.icio.us bookmarks available as in-browser bookmarks, and it picks up media streams like crazy (you can browse photos on Facebook as if they were a Flickr stream, for example).

I'd definitely recommend checking it out while you wait for Firefox 3.0 final, it should also gets a bit more plugin support.

    • I used to use Flock just for the photobucket tool. It's pretty spiffy now. I'll have to play around with it again sometime.

    • Cool Site. What I'd like to see is a common community language so that we can connect all the online communities that we belong to into one place.

Whoever figures that out is going to take over.
