But now you can whittle down the amount of your own information that goes to your friends' news feeds and block news feeds from users you aren't inerested in. So they conceded that people like to control and personalize the flow of information they give/get.

Let's not forget the privacy hoopla and protests that resulted in Facebook's introduction of the nefarious News Feed last September. That feature went on to become the site's most popular (and probably traffic driving) feature.
I'm interested to see where the cards fall in the end on this one.

Facebook was doing so well until they f-cked up on this. At least they realized it-- now you can go to your privacy settings and then to "external websites" and check the box that says "Don't allow any websites to send stories to my profile." Then you're safe. For now.
