What about the indigenous population. Sure, the majority likes the status quo...but what about those who have been trampled by the powers that be? I know there is no simple answer...but let's face it...there is no simple answer.
Have you asked yourself what it is that these people are fighting for, be they in the minority or what? I don't really know, but I think I would want to study it a bit more.

A person that owned a business, a house, and two cars was kidnapped 4 years ago. She begged and begged trying to get them to feel pitty. She made negotiations until they agree to let her go if she sold everything she owned and give them the money.
Her husband sold everything in a week. Her brother went with especific instructions for the money drop off in the forrest far away from the city.
They payed the FARC, an hour later, they released her in a road where she can get a ride.
Now her and her husband are pizza delivery drivers in Miami, Florida. They lost everything in Colombia and the business is still closed. Parishing away.

Very well done guys! I also took part in a much smaller demonstration in downtown Los Angeles on the 4th.
This just goes to show how fed up all of us are of this internal conflict that's been dragging on for decades.Hopefully, foreigners who tend to sympathize and romanticize the "struggle" of these so called rebels will start getting a clue as to the where the general population really stands.

FARC has of course been responsible for some really nasty stuff, but they're not left wing. a psudo-marxist philosophy doesn't mean they're left wing.

I just watched this pod and was so moved, not only by the response and the collective effort, but also in realizing that the internet can be used to channel these efforts in such a massive way. It makes me wonder at what else can be accomplished with this method...
