Mayor loses her clothes, loses her job

Image

Carmen Konut-Gronquist, mayor of a town in Oregon, who stripped to her underwear and posed on a fire truck (then the pictures ended up on MySpace) has been let go.

Voters in the town voted early on Monday to recall Ms. Gronquist.

Hopefully a lessoned learned. People like their mayors with their clothes on!

    • it's abolutely ridiculous how conservative people are in regards to the human body and public behavior. so many people are so ashamed of their sexuality yet it's completely natural and essential to the continuation of humanity which those who are conservative claim they want.... very sad indeed

    • Gender discrimination and public stupidity.
absurd! she is obviously a body builder am sure that help her get elected and am sure the town knew it. This picture is a body builder pose.. Am not one but i work at a convention center where Body Builder competition take place and those swim suits are "racier"
Where is Calif. Governor Arnold Schwartzeneger [Mr. Olympia and Republican] to come in the defense of a fellow sports 'person'?

    • She wasn't even in office when the photo was taken. Bill C can get B??w job while working in the oval office, but this woman gets kicked out of office. Sh?t women don't stand a chance.

    • I agree with everyone's comments above. She did it for fitness (she's more fit than most Americans and should be proud of that!!), and she has nothing to apologize for. Plus, she's putting proceeds towards the local health department!! I love her response: "I wouldn't change anything. I wouldn't. It is what it is. I'm proud of myself for doing what I did...for hanging in there," Kontur-Gronquist said.

    • I'm pretty sure I'm with most everyone else on this one Swiyyah =) interesting but sad post. I'd be pretty happy to have her as my mayor ;D ...she's fit but not exactly behaving lasciviously imho.

think I have a good idea what porn really is, and THAT's not it lol ...too many judgemental prix about these dayz.

    • Americans are so prude! We are all naked under our clothes. I challenge anyone afraid of nudity to take their clothes off right now and stand in the mirror. How does it make you feel? Are you ashamed? Ashamed of what? I challenge you to stand there staring, until at last it is no big deal. It may take days, even weeks, but you can do it. I have faith in you!

    • what a silly, trite romp into the national headlines. come on, did anyone get harmed in the viewing of this woman doing something on her own time. when we start 'shedding' the notion that a person's personal life has everything to do with their public lives, we can then contemplate a raucous twirl under a thrown hat in happy mary tyler moore dance and just be done with all this vain bulljive.
