Could an electric vehicle capable of traveling up to 500 miles on a five minute charge using Electrical Energy Storage Unit (EESU) advance conventional electric car technology? Texas-based EEStor Technology has announced an innovative new technology over electrochemical batteries based solid state ultracapacitors. Adam Miller writes that "ultracapacitors have an advantage over electrochemical batteries in that they can absorb and release a charge virtually instantaneously with virtually no deterioration." And both Toronto-based ZENN Car Motor Company and defense contractor Lockheed-Martin are interested in EESU energy storage applications. Check it out!
