Change eye color, skin tone by popping a pill?

Image
Mr_Costello
"Imagine going a gorgeous golden colour without having to bake for hours in the sun or use a fake tan. To make your skin colour change chemically, all you would need to do is pop a pill or apply a cream.

You may soon be able to alter your skin tone, and maybe even your eye colour, as easily and as often as you dye your hair but with a lot less mess — while protecting your skin from sun damage and cancer."

    • ok well i see it pretty positively think of it like this your a special operations soldier youve spent 10 years killing americas secret enemies you get older wanna retire but youneed a new identity that sticks contacts and hair dye and spray on tans arent gonna be fun for the rest of your life and all you have to do is make it have an age limit and prescription based, theres plenty of stuff we do that is far more dangerous than change what we look like, like cigarettes and beer dont do enough harm and i bet most of those peple against that do at least one if not both of the above

    • This country is over-medicated (no offense, but it's true). Why do people feel the need to bake under the sun or drastically alter the way they look, and to try to do all this with the help of ingesting possibly harmful drugs... it's too much! Be happy with who you are people... quit the baking, and the overmedication, and the spraying of the tan and all that nonsense!

    • Personally, I believe that everyone should learn to accept themselves for who they are. However, since I also believe that in America, individuals should be tolerated for their own beliefs...I suppose if they wish to change their exteriors, I can accept that because they're responsible for themselves. I wouldn't just because I feel I'm supposed to be the way I am, and I'm unique because like TIGGER, there's only one of me.

    • In addition to the side-effects that will most likely be associated with this pill, I've never been vain enough to care about things like that.

There are more important medical discoveries to be made, cures for diseases to be found. We shouldn't be wasting our time and energy on vanity medicines.

    • Initially, I thought this sounded very cool. I still think it is, however the problem is that virtually all drugs are toxic to some degree, and as Eli Lilly once said, "a drug without side effects is no drug at all."

    • A Black Bill O' Reilly! I don't know why, but that reminds me of Franklin the Puppet from Arrested Development.

      You know, Gob's puppet?

    • Oh Boy!! I'll just start taking it along with ALL the analgesic, antacid, anti-anxiety, anti-arrhythmic, anti-bacterial, antibiotic, anticoagulant, thrombolytic, anti-convulsant, antidepressant, anti-diarrheal, anti-emetic, anti-fungal, anti-histamine, anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory, anti-neoplastic, anti-pyretic, antivirals, barbiturate, beta-blocker, bronchodilator, cold remedy, corticosteroid, cough suppressant, cytotoxic, decongestant, diuretic, expectorant, hypoglycemic, immunosuppressive, laxative, bullet-muscle relaxant, sedative, sex hormone, sleep, anti-psychotic, and vitamin pills that "I" take. Come on people if we have a pill for EVERYTHING that can effect us, for better or for worse, don't you think that the consequences of us using these medication whenever we "need" to could, no, WOULD be devistating or possibly fatal?

(I'm being sarcastic when I talk about me taking all these different med's.)

    • This is the problem I have with pharmaceuticals. As long as it provides the intended result we are unconcerned with any other sideffects.

    • I had no problem with the artical untill it started taking a sharp racist twist..."black" people or anyone with any coloring in their skin for that matter, might be interested in something like this; its all PERSONAL preference on how you want to look or be portrayed on the outside...it doesn't neccesarily mean your trying to be someone else! If a person wants to make their skin darker or lighter because they like how it looks, I say go for it! There are just as many white people that want to be dark as there are dark people that want to be light. As far as this being an alternative to skin cancer (tanning outside or in a bed), I think its great and wouldn't mind trying it myself!

    • so i totally see crime rates shooting up.
i would think people would be tempted knowing that their description could change with only a pill.

I don't see a pill that alters your largest organ as a good thing.

    • well spray on tans could also be linked to cancer...I dont fully agree with allowing chemicals to sink into my skin...ultimately into my bloodstream...only to get filtered by my internal organs...you win some you lose some...you can either embrace technology, or reject it; You can either accept yourself or reject it (go point)

    • I don't really get why people can't be happy with what they have. Besides, aren't there spray-on tans and color contacts for all of this?

    • Peewong:

some people like me don't like wearing contacts. and some people just cant wear contacts at all. it irritates my eyes. and i just want blue eyes and i don't see why its such a big deal to want your eyes a certian color?? and i don't like using fake tan stuff. because it makes a mess, it takes at least an hour. if ou don't do it right it will streak. and some turns orange when you put it on. and it wears off. and when it comes off its like dead skin and comes off a little at a time. and it looks horrible.
