With the rush to add cool features to the iPhone, the PC may get left behind. The best way to find out is to keep an eye on next week's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). For the first time ever, this conference has sold out – and that means it won't be just Mac software developers showing up, but a whole new generation of companies designing for the iPhone … including a bunch of outfits that have never considered working with Apple before.

At a time when the feud between Gates and Ballmer is hitting the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and erstwhile partner AT&T is all but forcing iPhone users to hack their devices (and thus free Apple, with full deniability, from that partnership), all Jobs & Co. have to do right now is just stay the course and not screw up.

Of course, Apple has much bigger plans than that.

    • I think that we will always have some form of the PC. People use notebook computers a lot, and I still consider those PCs. I think we'll definitely start seeing a lot more powerful mobile computers.

    • PCs will always survive because of more hardcore computer users. Similar to the Wii, yes alot of money and publicity comes from appealing to a lazier and more casual group, but there will always be the hardcore users.

I'm a tech and i can tell you that there are way more neophyte users and hardcore users in the world as is the case with almost every digital device.

It's just that in order to be reading a site as cool as current you are prolly a more advanced user than most.
