Train to pick up passengers without stopping

"This is a concept for Singapore’s Metro Rail Line so that trains can pick people up without ever stopping. That sounds impossible, right? The idea is that people who want to board the train get into a smaller car that piggybacks onto the moving train as it passes through the station. To get off, you get into the smaller upper car while on the train and it unhitches at the station."

Watch the video ... way cool!

    • This is a neat idea. How do you get into the bigger car though? Say, if you are going a longer distance? There would need to be some sort of locking mechanism with a door that lets you into the bigger car. Makes me thinks of something similar to spaceship doors and train conductors would have to be able to do a lot more than collect tickets.

    • This is great!!!!!!!!!!
      Take a look.
Sounds complicated but if you look at it a few times it is a very simple concept.
A cab waits on top of the track area ready to be smoothly engaged as the train speeds by..
The cab engages onto a track on the train's roof.
The roof is long enough that it allows the cab to slow down to a stop.
      ..another cab can simultaneously dis-engage.
