There's no need for the DNC to pay people to go out and disrupt conservative blogs and sites. That's George Soros' job and he's doing it very well.

The really funny part is he'd have to recruit others to do is bidding on the net because he can't get online by himself.

Could someone point out exactly where it says to "spam liberal blogs" on this link. I am amazed how often people just reply blindly to posts without first checking out the linked article. I feel that I am conservative on some issue. I am also very liberal on other issues. If I had to define myself in this way I would consider myself a moderate. I do not like the idea of putting people into molds during election cycles, it is very de-humanizing. People are unique indiduals with differing opinions on all of the wide variety of various issues facing us today. Can we all share our opinions and ideas with personal insults and attacks. I know I am guilty of this too. I will do my best not to personally insult people here on Current, even if I myself am insulted for sharing my views and opinions.

We should be smart enough to know that this is coming. All of my, let's say, conversative friends try to push my buttons constantly. What is so funny is that I don't have to do anything with them. All of their buttons are lit up and flashing red. When I feel the need for amusement, I just get on them and start dancing. What seems to irritate the die hards the most is when you don't get get upset and yell and start name calling. Don't let anyone drag you down to their level.

Oh man, that is hilarious.
McCain "The McCandidate" is nuts. What a sell-out war-mongering codger.
I just clicked your link and filled out some bogus crap and told them what I think of them. Counter-Spam.... ACTIVATE!

To menmykoko---
On persuasion: Any time I communicate with you I'm trying to create a bridge between our minds. It's hard to imagine communication without persuasion. As "brudda IZ" and Louis Armstrong said "I see friends shaking hands, saying How are you -- They're really saying I love you" --In this little paragraph, I'm attempting to show a broader, and yes truthful, view of communication: It's still persuasion. If done with emotional elegance, you may accept it as truth, if done with a pit bull snarling over your nude body, you might not.
On rewards for political speech: Isn't this exactly what politics is all about? Quite frankly, and think about this for a moment: There would be no power in a political machine without rewards for support. Even if there is no 'overt' reward, a person's internal values create a reward/punishment system that is as hidden from you as any external political motivation. Would you want Barack Obama to be the head of a political machine without cohesive power? Lack of cohesion has been the downfall of the Democratic Party since Roosevelt died. (Lyndon Johnson was really good at it, but really bozoed when it came to understanding foreign policy -- but that's another topic)
So pick your own best truth. The one that you can really establish a bulkhead in someone's mind as being true, real and wise. Share it. And know that, yes, words are swords, armor, clusterbombs, plowshares and flowers. Words are noble, sacred, vile and hateful. People you will find on the internet will use them in all of those ways. Expect them to throw everything at you, but expect to carry your message to them, even if you don't.

Eloquently written, thanks for sharing. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a civil conversation with many people. Politics in, party out. I’m sick of the divide and conquer mentality. I think the trolls are trolling to cause havoc and stifle the discussion. I’m pretty sure honest discussion is not what they are here for. I find comfort in the ones who are here to share, we outnumber the trolls. Keep talking! Keep sharing! One voice, being joined by many voices, is a song worth sharing!

While it doesn't surprise me that McCain is doing this, i think it is a new age, when people are hired to be propaganda machines, but all they do is blog. IT reminds be of lenin tactics. I wonder hoe many of those reps are on this site filling this chat.

Several years ago, I posted on jerry spinger’s blog from Air America. Until I found out they had a plant, who was there to antagonize people. It was a political blog, I would never participate in anything like his television show, but I enjoyed the exchange between democrats and republicans.
I felt violated when I found out! I stopped posting on blogs until I found huffingtonpost.com. But, since I have started posting on current.com, it's hard to find the time to post at Huffington Post. I do find interesting posts there, which I share at current.com.
I appreciate honest dialog with Democrats and Republicans and think people who post just to spin (make us dizzy) are shameful.

While I'm upset about the dirty politics on McCain's part, I'm surprised his political camp recognized the power of the Internet and chose to target liberal blogs. They are indeed influential.

The fact that they target Americans with different opinions than theirs, instead of having honest discussion shows something about their character, or lack thereof!

Actually, I did not know this until recently and it scared the shit out of me and I also felt violated--like someone had been in my head, lol. I am surprised that it is not a larger issue and more widely known. It seems to me an insidious and devious form of attempting to brainwash someone.
If a person is being rewarded in anyway to go into any public forum and masquerades, disguises and lessens the degree of their views, with the clear intention of, persuading and changing someone elses moral and ethical beliefs of how they view society and the world to the side of the persuader unbeknownst to the persuadee, then there can be no doubt that deception is at the root. The problem lies with whether or not the bloggers are being transparent about their beliefs from the start.

Well, All John McCain's site is saying to his supporters is to exercise their freedom of speech rights on some blogs on the internet. His site does not seem to advocate rude or ignoble speech. All legal, moral and ethical.
BUT! His site does list dozens of moderate and conservative sites that you can click on to exercise your freedom of speech rights. It is like a list of the most important right wing sites: sites read by the people that really need gentle persuasion and a loving hand to lead them to a better perspective on the future of America.
So, don't spam, don't spread hate, don't be manini (that's hawaiian slang for petty), be honest and spread your truth. everywhere and anywhere. The Constitution says it's OK.

spam is cheap meat! Let's find the prime cuts (facts) and not rely on 'cheap meat' 'spam'. There are enough facts which don't need to be spun to make our point. Point to the facts to lead our way.
America is in deep do, do and spam distorts the truth, it doesn't help the Democrats to spam, it's demeans us!

If we do it we are sneakier than them, because I haven't seen anything about the DNC or Obama paying people to disrupt conservative blogs. We are just rowdier than them naturally maybe, and do go places and say things for free? I'd feel sleazy getting paid to disrupt things.

This is no different than what Obama is and has been doing. Some of the Obama supporters have been banned from other sites because they act so ugly to other people who express views that are contrary to BO. Why is this newsworthy? Just because someone other than BO is doing it? What is good for the goose is good for the gander! I can't believe how quickly everything any other candidate does is attacked but Obama can do whatever he wants and people ignore it! Amazing!

Rude dialog is not good for the goose, or the gander! That is what is wrong with America. Everyone thinks because someone else does something which is wrong, it makes it right for them to do it also. WRONG!
It has been said 'one leads by example'. We are each 'one' and are responsible for the example we set. I don't think two wrongs make a right. Rude should not be accepted by Democrats, or Republicans. As 'Americans' we need to change the 'political war' going on in America today. It's called politics as usual! Politics as usual is hurting us to our core, bringing out the worst in many!
I would like to see ‘American’ dialog, not Democrat and Republican spinning. Spinning (distorting facts) is not good for either party. If the ‘facts’ hurt a particular party, it may be a sign ‘they need to change’ their ways. Facts, not spin is the way to lead!

I am curious how you say that some Obama supporters have been banned but do not back it up with substance. When you say something like this you have to cite where you are getting this information from. This is how we as a country get misinformed about everything. I cannot tell you how many emails I get with misinformation. It takes me ten minutes to research the subject to find out the real information and debumk what is really being said. Therefore, when you make claims such as this please back it up. I am not saying that Obama's camp is innocent of this tactic. Research what they say before repeating it!!!! - 3 years ago

Citizens can come onto blogs and say whatever they like, and be as rude as they like -- which is fine; it's the first amendment -- but the interesting thing to me is that the McCain campaign is advocating AND rewarding their supporters for coming onto liberal blogs to argue with them. Is Obama's campaign encouraging such invasive behavior on his campaign website?? If not, then you can't really say Obama is 'doing the same thing'.

The RNC has been doing this for months. McCain can't even come up with original dirty tricks. What a goofy old loser. See them with their rude remarks and ignore them to death. In fact rude people should all be ignored, maybe they will get bored and go away.
