Women in Northern Ireland and over 70 other countries have used one of the main websites, Women on Web. The website says it can help reduce the problems linked with unsafe abortions and has stressed that it posts the drugs only to countries where abortion is heavily restricted, and to women who declare they are less than nine weeks' pregnant.
A Women on Web customer has described the website as an "important resource" and has praised the website for their customer service: "Women on Web kept in contact with me via e-mail. The medication arrived through Customs, properly blister-packed, with complete paperwork and a doctor's signature."
However, according to A British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology review of 400 customers, nearly 11% had needed a surgical precedure after taking the medication, either because the drugs had not completed the abortion or because of excessive bleeding.

Although I do think that people who are going to have sex outside of marriage and have no desire to have children (because they're not ready or whatever) should use the right protection rather than "riding bareback", I still think it's ridiculous that some countries' governments prohibit women from having control over their own bodies and choices; it's slightly unfair that their governments can control the children who come into the world, but when/if they turn into deliquents the blame goes back to the parents.

It sounds like a problematic procedure but I think if countries are going to restrict a woman's right to abortion that is the only option many women will have. Women on Web at least sounds like they do as much as they can to ensure the women's safety - it should be allowed to continue as long as there're countries that restrict abortion in the world.

Yeah, I agree, but it looks like the medication is far from perfect, so it does make you worry about the women's health.

As long as countries don't allow women to have abortions, you cannot blame them for looking for alternatives.
