Scotland to build largest windfarm

This is very positive news! I am extremely impressed that Scotland is taking the initiative. I am still disheartened that the United States isn't setting an example.

There's a workshop on building a turbine at the BIG Tent Festival this weekend.

Woo hoo!!!! I *heart* SCOTLAND!!! All these occurrences of countries getting into the renewable resource business will only encourage the rest of us to do so as well. YAY!!

Well done Scotland! I bet there were more than a few NIMBYs trying to put a stop to this.

Thank you Scotland for continuing your inventive ways & leading by example, showing the world that your charming country once again produces positive changes that ripple throughout & benefit the world.

The scotch is safe and this is a great step forward I hope the world is watching Scotland and Texas as well. I would love to see the day when oil is considered "Old Technology".

There's so much wind in the northern and southern parts of the world, I really can't see why we don't transform everything beyond 70 latitude to wind farm land: seriously there is so little natural beauty etc..., for example on the continent of Antarctica alone, that it'd be a reasonable sacrifice.

And before you start, we could work AROUND the penguins and whales.

Finally, we're in the news for something other than leading the developed world in terms of lowest life expectancy, heart attacks and sectarian violence.

As Mr. Gore suggested, it doesn't matter why oil tycoons are eagerly embracing Wind Power technologies. It's still a step in the right direction. Hope they get just as lustful in the profit race for Solar.

On a side note, I also think the windmills are rather nice to look at spinning in the air-- a better aesthetic than industrial looking oil refineries.

Hopefully the rest of the world will follow this good example. Rather than pursuing offshore oil drilling...
