A new type of artificial cornea has been developed by scientists at Stanford University. The cornea will be flexible and have a water content similar to that of a natural cornea, making it far more effective than current prosthetics.

Vision is important. For someone to lose their eyesight due to disease is a horrible thing. I wonder though if it could also be used as permanent contacts for those who cannot get laser surgery.
