Japanese scientist Professor Susumu Tachi claims to have developed this 'invisibility coat' which creates an optical illusion of invisibility. Scientists at the University of California are also making investigations into the manipulation of light, and specifically the ability to render objects invisible.

Exactly, and you would be able to see the back of the hand mirror, from the front. I think it's a green screen kind of a deal like the weather men use. You know like when they wear the wrong color tie and you can see the map on it.

Wasn't that the same Japanese guy in the cell phone popcorn popping demonstration.
I think this has to be seen with the naked eye to be believed,
I can do this in about an hour (or less) in After Effects.

There is something not quite right there - if it were really invisibility and not a kind of projection, the guy's hands should be visible at the back of the ball through the ball, and his face should be visible through the brick.
