Schwarzenegger Terminates Texting While Driving in California

California is joining seven other states and Washington DC by imposing a full-on ban of text messaging while driving. The bill signed by the Governator himself imposes a $20 fine for the first offense and $50 for repeat offenders starting next year. Kind of a slap on the wrist if you ask me—but that is more than 43 other states in this country are doing.

    • New Jersey passed a law a while back that banned talking on the phone while driving unless you have an ear piece. From what I saw on my 40 mile a day commute, it was evident to me that the law is basically a joke.
There's no contest to the fact that the volume of traffic eclipses any city in Jersey compared to cities like LA.
Trying to police people talking or texting in their car is going to be an up hill battle if it's enforced at all.
      Good luck, seriously.
