A study shows that people feel that lying through email is justified, deeming email as perhaps one of the most deceptive forms of communication more so than handwritten notes.

Perhaps its the disconnection of the digital interface, not having to see a face, and not use your physical handwriting, what do you think?

    • This view can also be applied to social networking, some people over-embrace the voyeuristic qualities of the Web and sometimes exploit the advantages, borders and distance between their public and private lives.

    • I think it depends how you determine 'lying.'

Telling your boss you have definitely finished that project is way different to say, arranging an illicit affair with the new sexy employee and not admitting your married with two kids.

I wonder if it's the same for texting, I'm guessing the results would be pretty similar - it's all about the faceless communication.
