Just build your own desktop. It's cheaper, has better graphics than game consoles, and it's as easy as sliding a bunch of cards into slots.

im going to say around £2,000 probably. $4,500 maybe. Will be so expensive highly recommended if you want to game via PC. TBH if you want games get a console -> its cheaper, generally speaking looks nicer and you have a gd storyline also :P. Yeah anyway laptop very high specs for a laptop, try not to overclock it or you may blow up :P

When is Apple coming out with a quad core or dual quad core lap top???? I'll buy that one. Gates has enough of our money.

Gates won't have any of your money as long as you don't use windows. Get a linux distro like Fedora. It's free, and community built and maintained.

The more features you pack into a laptop, the less battery life you have. Any game or application that would require that graphics card or processor, with the high brightness display going, would drain the battery in about 20 min.
Unless your the transient type, you really might as well just get a desktop with the same features, which would be much cheaper.

vista is reeeeeeally slow.
I've got 3gigs of ram and sometimes I have to wait several seconds for the start menu to open.
on my old pc, i was running xp on 512M and it was much faster.

Yeah: Halo Combat Evolved, Age of Empires 2, Civilization IV, and.... yeah that's about it. Oh, and Spore, but good luck upgrading your mac to run on it. You know what a Mac upgrade is? Buying a new one! You can NOT upgrade or customize your Mac, you have to do it The Company Way, for The Company!

Any head-to-head comparisons with the likes of Alienware or Dell? Although Dell now owns Alienware, I've always been an Alien fan (from even way back when they first started and burst onto the scene).
