    • No one bothers to mention Gates and Jobs used to be side-by-side....until Gates walked and used Jobs concept of an object oriented GUI.

    • have used both systems extensively...only major data loss ever was when the mac version of QuickBooks ate it's own data and then baked itself up with corrupted data. fortunately, i backed up the data offsite on a pc..

not really sure which is better, but would never run a business on a mac again....now let's talk video...MAC wins.

    • YEAH... let's argue about who to send our money to because it really makes a difference. The last time I checked each one is successful because it fulfills the users specific needs and provides different services/ features.

If i ever need to do video editting Im not going to let the fact that I have a pc get in the way of me using a mac at the library.

    • This is ridiculous. I like the Mac-PC ads, but this one is just stupid. I've seen probably 20 different Mac ads in the past year and only 2 or 3 PC ads. This one is just misleading. But smart marketing nonetheless.

    • This shit will never stop, XP ran just fine they should of just waited a few more years before releasing Vista. As for Steve Bald-mer He needs to stop drinking Red bull and act like a CEO should......And Fix FUCKING Vista!!

I agree, The ads are great i know we'll see more of them, just keep them coming. I think if the PC adopted some of designs from other manufactures to compensate for form factor, MAC would envy the PC.

Just fix Vista Thats all we ask, Hell I'd like to see Apple make a Video game console.

    • Heh. Cute ad. But I'd really wish they'd stop treating PC as a synonym with Microsoft. Not all PCs have to run on Vista. You can run XP, Mac OS, or even something Linux based if you know how to use a computer.

    • I am so sick of people fighting over computers as if they were talking about their favorite presidential candidate. I can barely look on a blog to get answers to technical questions without reading smack talk about Mac's or PC's. Can't America realize that Mac's and PC's are good for different things? Some things are easier and more efficient on a Mac, some on a PC! And its OKAY that both exist! And Linux, too! Can't we all live in harmony? Geez!

    • Linux people, LINUX!!! It would be like placing a hot chick in a wet Tee-shirt behind these two jackasses. It would be.. "Wha? I don't understand what they're saying... money? MOVE HOE I WANNA SEE TITS"... (or something like that).

    • I dont understand all the mac hate? In the end they offer a great product... If you think its too expensive dont buy it... I think the issue here is that the products are so appealling and sexy that people hate having to shell out the cash for them... Supply and demand folks... Apple made sure their products would be demanded by everyone while Microsoft, well um, who knows what microsoft was doing but now its coming back to bite them in the behind...

A New Beetle is a sexy car. So is a Mini Cooper. Neither is worth $30,000.

Apple's dropped firewire, Target Disk Mode and other features of their HARDWARE to move to Intel. Removing key hardware differences that makes your HARDWARE superior to the competition means that you're now charging extra for your name brand and offering nothing for it.

Remember, kids, OS X can run on non-Apple hardware. It's questionable how legal it is to lock the OS to one manufacturer when they sell the OS as a whole retail, and not as an upgrade.

    • Nice missdirection by Apple . Windows commercial was about cool people use our product as well , not slamming Apple at all .It makes Apple look like a bunch of babies theres enough money for both companies to win .

Oh you mean cool people like Tony Hawk, Yao Ming, Verne Troyer (Mini Me), De La Soul, Will Ferrell, Yo-Yo Ma?

Oh wait, those were Apple's ad. Back in the early part of the 2000's. (Switch and pre-switch Ad campaigns).

      (link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Switch_ad_campaign )

I like Mac OS X, I am not a fan of the Apple hardware any more. I've reverted back to Linux prime time in protest of their cost for little hardware. 5 years ago you spent $2000 and got a decent, 4-year lasting, computer. Today, I don't see the same value since they're using Intel (reads: cheap) processors.

    • I think if pcs where as easy to use and as user friendly as macs they would sell more and not have to worry. Or may be if more people just paid the extra and used a mac we might just be a little bit happier as a nation.

But then again its your choice different strokes for different strokes hey...

This is the eternal struggle. To be user friendly or powerful and customizable. I'll take power and custom any day personally. People just gotta learn to crack open a book or manual once in a while.

    • @Owwmykneecap: Yes, it can. Just reboot into XP or run it in VM (may not run well in VM)

They can also run Linux and emulate Mac OS and Windows from within the Linux environment if you want to be all hipster about it.

    • LOL, let's forget then that Mac's are using PC parts, and that the PC is a fully customizable platform. Yea, Vista is full of bugs but haven't Microsoft decided to fix them with the release of Windows 7, and that most of the people who don't like vista have just replaced it with XP. I also agree with "Owwmykneecap" there just isn't the games available on the mac platform.

    • ghost2047:

Microsoft has decided to fix the bugs that reside in Vista with the release of Windows 7... Um, isn't the point of an new OS to fix the bugs and/or have less bugs then the previous OS? That said, it is also true that many people who have had issues with Vista have rolled back to XP on their new machines. So not only have they purchased a brand new computer, but many end up spending between $100 to $150 on an old OS that hasn't dropped in price. Wonderful.

Oh, and going to games, the only reason that Windows has more available games lies in the virtual monopoly that they have had for years. It takes more time and effort for game companies to make a cross OS video game, so most companies choose to make a game that simply plays on the most abundant OS. Keep in mind, games that do play on both OS's tend to run better on the Mac OS, and if you're going to spend the money to buy XP to install it on your Vista machine, you might as well use bootcamp and install it on a Mac so you can play those games that don't run on Mac OS on you Mac, and then you can switch back the the Mac OS when you either are done playing or are playing a game that doesn't require Windows.

    • lol...I'm feeling a bit anti-mac, I was expecting a price drop...like they made in the US, but no, apparently we're financially stable enough to pay the same money.
