Craigslist cracks down on selling sexy time

In an effort to curb illegal prostitution, people selling sex on Craigslist are going to have to pay for their ads with a valid credit card and leave a working phone number. That information will then be available to law enforcement subpoenas.

    • In Rhode Island prostitution is legal behind closed doors. It will be interesting to see how they will implement this. All of the Asian Massage Parlors in RI use cl to advertise.

    • Why are those requirements new? Isn't that such an obvious way to crack down on online prostitution? As in, why wasn't the phone number credit card thing required from the start?

    • unreal, to curb a social 'problem' like illegal prostitution, they're going to charge people to list ads...

Boy, it's great we cracked down on that problem!! Yeah, now with the valid credit cards we get a piece of all that action! No pun intended!!

      (The room busts out in laughter!)

      To which, Craig's wife says, "But Craig, you were supposed to crack down on the prostitution!" "What? What prostitution? We were being prostituted! And I put a stop to that right away! Just try and play me fo' a foo', biyatch!"
