Zoybar Modular Instrument is a Guitar, Bass or Medieval Lute, Depending on Your Mood

purplefox
The Zoybar takes the idea that stringed instruments share many features in common, and fuses these features into a single instrument, allowing the user to change what they're playing at will, with interchangeable parts that can convert into a wide range of different music makers from all over the world. Sounds like a cool idea, but wouldn't simplification potentially mean a worsening of sound quality - or even making them all sound pretty similar? Will believe it when I see it in action, but I'd certainly like to see it.

The Zoybar goes on sale in January 2009.
