Sky moves towards 3D broadcast

Satellite broadcaster, BskyB, is to take a significant step by bringing 3D broadcast to UK and Ireland screens.

Sky has recently filmed 3D broadcasts over the past several months. It requires a 3DTV (even though they ain't yet available) and a HD set box box.

Sky says it's not a product launch, but producing a technological demonstration.

What do you guys think? Excited, or an expensive gimmick?

    • Haha so Current was right! (Referring to the block on the homepage that changes when you click it)

I think it's way gimmicky. I think the technical quality is at a relative max for typical people. Now that I have 1,000+ channel places, I want actually content! I have like 6 MTV's and they're all the same! Current is good, but there needs to be more quality content- something that can't be bought, only created.
