For sale: actual space shuttles - NASA seeks buyers for three shuttles

Does anybody remember that program with Andy Griffith, when he was a junk collector and had his own rocket which he used to retrieve and sell space junk?
I remeber it well...:)

tho it would be pretty cool to say: i live in a space shuttle it would be bang zoom strate to the moon only thing is you'd have to look for an engine for it and good luck on ebay getting one of those for a space shuttle...

designed in the late sixties built in the seventies,does it have a place for my 8 track and my fuzzy dice i took out of my Pacer. sell it for scrap or put all the TARP recipients and send it up with some faulty o rings in the boosters

What good is it without the main engines? If it had engines 42 million people could each contribute a buck then the people would own it and we could force the government to give free rides to everybody into space and undercut richard branson and his plans to charge big bucks to go into space tips only for rich people!

They would be display only. You need more than what they are selling to operate the shuttle. Sad but true.
