What if it shot beer at the other bots, thus inebriating them to death

yeah definitely sweat, I believe the show is call "robot wars", I can't really remembered. But that didn't ever seem like fun, everyone always gets so angry and it's nothing like what this pod shows. there are definitely some more sweet fights but, like I said, no fun at all, unless you win the big hexagonal nut.

Great pod, heres my question though......the definition of a robot is something that can sense, think, and act.....do these machines do that or are they more like really badass remote control cars?

NoGodsNoMasters:
A couple of things:
1) What definition of robot are you using? You might want to check out (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot#Definitions)2) What makes you think that these machines do not have sensors and computers in them. Cuz, uh they do.

NoGodsNoMasters:
Ok so I'm guessing you didn't read over the defining characteristics of what a robot is on that link you sent me then did you? If you had you would realize that those 8 points sum down to sense, think, act. The 3 characteristics that I learned about robotics in college where I hold a masters in computer engineering and will be attending Carnegie Mellon University's Institute of Robotics in Pittsburgh for my masters.
Second, I didn't know that it had sensors so that is why I asked. I wasn't putting anyone down. So why don't you chill out hyperdefensive.

Sorry about getting too defensive, but it is something I get a LOT. Kicked dog and all.
And the gist of the WIKI article is that there are more definitions of the word robot than there are roboticists. "There is no one definition of robot which satisfies everyone". The word robot is not a hard, fixed word.Have fun at CMU, it is a good school.

Always remember something theeel.....when people get on your ass for being a geek......we fuckin took over. This is def. a nerds world now. And the people who are into robotics today will be the Bill Gates of tomorrow because that is where our world is heading.

Lesson learnt from that pod: If you're building a fighting robot, don't just have a flame thrower as a weapon.
