The documents also include a recorded conversation between Bonds’s former trainer, Greg Anderson, and his former business manager, Stevie Hoskins. In that conversation, the government said that Anderson told Hoskins that he had injected Bonds with performance-enhancing drugs. Anderson also referred to inside information he said he had about baseball’s drug-testing program, the government said.
The documents address a 2003 drug test that was conducted by Major League Baseball that came up negative for performance-enhancing drugs. But tests later performed on that sample by the U.C.L.A. Olympic Testing laboratory showed testosterone; clomid, an anti-estrogen drug used to stimulate natural testosterone levels; and THG, a designer steroid that was provided to athletes by the Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative, or Balco.
The evidence includes doping calendars, the results from blood and urine tests and handwritten notes.
According to the documents, Hoskins, who is expected to be a witness at the trial, recorded a conversation he had with Anderson in the clubhouse of Bonds’s team, the San Francisco Giants, in March of 2003.

"Does it matter if Bonds took steroids?"
As a baseball fan, it matters to me. I don't fret over it but I'm glad that I can now reasonably expect players to not be juiced. The thing that makes sport what it is is the struggle of a human to accomplish feats. For me anyway. What is so spectacular about some 'roided up freak whacking balls out of a park? Contrast that with Gibby's game one homer in '88 and you will probably see what I mean.

How is it that Rafael Palmeiro can testify in front of congress that "I have never used steroids. Period," then get suspended for testing positive for steroids not even six months later, and yet remain unprosecuted?
Both men claim that they did not knowingly take the substances in question. Both men claim they were telling the truth at the time.
Why is one under federal investigation and one kicking back in the sun popping Viagra?
A cynical observer might conclude that maybe the feds are out to get Barry 'cos he just ain't as white as Rafael. Or perhaps that being vague in your answers to a Grand Jury is just that much worse than LYING TO CONGRESS.

It does make you wonder. I am not ready to play the race card though. My guess has been that they are on him because he broke the single season home run record and the overall home run record.

The majority of all the male European swimmers say that it is impossible for an athlete to walk away with 8 gold medals in modern day Olympic competition.
I REALLY COULD CARE LESS.
What pisses me off is the witch hunt on Bonds, when all of professional sports is dirty.

Baseball is a show, it always has been.
Babe Ruth was a DRUNK, oh yeh let's not forget the SPIT BALL. This is just more power for the gov. to take everything away.
This also does not help the HEMP/MED issue.
Remember Drugs are bad.
They use Viagra as a sponsor, what kind of dumb message is that.Play Ball!

Don't forget the 90's when Bud Selig and Major League Baseball decided to juice the call (tighten the innercore) just so the fans could see more home runs.
Hypocrites.

I'll go the other way...any athlete caught using steroids should lose their wealth in a class-action suit for defrauding fans...

I know I'll probably get jumped on for this but I've said for a long time that steroids should be mandatory for all professional athletes. I mean we're paying some of them 10+ million just to entertain us why not push their bodies to the absolute limit.

And because sport would lose it's meaning - for me at least. It is a spectacular thing for a person to be able to hit a home run because it is a challenge.

Why is everyone surprised? I thought it was common knowledge that professional athletes use steroids. Besides, if I took steroids I wouldn't be able to hit the ball like that.
