Promising Study Says Solar Prices are Falling!

The cost of installing solar panels on homes and businesses plunged 27.6 percent from 1998 through 2007, according to a new study that questions some of the conventional wisdom about solar power's price.

    • Problem with solar power is always efficiency. Until they develop panels that can use at least 45% of the solar energy they are bombarded with the price will always be fairly prohibitive. One thing that could also vastly effect the cost is the advent of the thin film solar panels. If these are as cost effective as the companies say they are, we could see the price fall to 4 to 5 dollars a watt. Then solar could truly compete.

    • By the time solar power prices fall, a trend will blossom to get Solar power in people's homes. Contributing back to environment with this new energy resource will soon take off.
