Your finger is the remote control of the future

Always losing the TV remote? Always arguing over who should be the channel controller? Well, fear no more, as a new way to control your TV is to be announced next month at the CeBit show in Germany; a gesture controlled 3D TV.

Ingeniously titled, iPoint 3D, the new control mechanism will take direction from "Wii-like' motions, which will allow "people to communicate with a 3-D display through simple gestures – without touching it and without 3-D glasses or a data glove."

Seems like science-fiction is turning into science-reality...

    • This seems like an interesting idea. I love the idea of 3D television in the home. Gesturing could be a little hard though for different aspects of television.
I agree though, the whole science fiction becoming science reality is interesting. I wonder if this would make it BIG worldwide?

    • thats cool as long as you can use it sitting down. i was thinking numbers might be hard but you could use your fingers. e.g. holding up 1,5,5 for current

    • I can't imagine this will be very useful for those guys who watch football and scream at the tv and jump around waving their arms as if the players might hear them.
