After going into administration last December, the music, movie and games retailer's future was unsure, but thankfully a rescue deal from Hut Group has seen some rapid changes put into place to get the business back up and running.
They've reopened the zavvi.co.uk portal and are now reportedly shipping from the tax-haven shores of Guernsey (similar to how Amazon works) and not just sticking to entertainment products, they're also selling perfumes and sexy knickers.
The CEO of the Hut Group explained that: "Zavvi is a major player in entertainment retail, both in the UK and Ireland. Our aim is to capitalise on this well recognised high street brand and transform the business into a leading class online retailer, not only in entertainment, but also across lifestyle products.
Think they can conquer the likes of other already well established online retailers, or could this be the beginning of the end for Zavvi (again)?

Didn't Zavvi start out as an online retailer? I'm certain the infrastructure and software is in place already, they are simply changing product focus.
It is a crowded market dominated by other retailers but who cares? The more businesses that have a go, the quicker this recession will blow over!

This is an odd move. Does zavvi really think they can perform well in this market with the likes of M&S, George and Primark offering equally pretty and cheap stuff?

I don't think they can compete with Amazon. Why would you?

Zavvi never made it as brand on the high street and I don't think it will online either.
It'll struggle to compete with Amazon, Play and CDWOW.
