So the UK is getting ever closer to having to turn off their analogue signal TVs and make the switch to a full digital service, and it seems that Freeview TV could be about to get a whole lot better.
Reports today claim that Freeview is set to launch HD programming on the digital service, as well as an auto rescan (for when a pigeon lands on your aerial/something just as annoying happens) and a broadband return path to enable two-way interactivity.
Richard Lindsay-Davies, director general of the DTG said:
"The launch of HD services on Freeview is a landmark in UK broadcasting and I am intensely proud of the role the DTG and its membership are playing."
I'd be tempted by free HD services, to get them on Cable and Sky you have to pay for the highest subscription packages, and quite frankly, I think they're expensive enough.

Freesat HD is the next evolution in the UK and is slowly starting to drip through.
The only debate now is around what exactly is HD. 720p, 1080i, 1080p or 576p?
It is all a bit of a foreign language for most people.
