Fortunately, a Spoke POV website offers instructions and the kits, available in red, yellow and blue start at about $100 per wheel from Adafruit.

This would probably result in some major car crashes at night due to deer-in-the-headlights symptoms from a ton of drivers.

some assembly required. Actually alot, its one of those DIY things. I surprised that this site doesn't sell kits that are already programmed and ready to roll.

that reminds me of a ferris wheel. I've always thought the LED display on the ferris wheel in wildwood NJ was an awe inspiring sight.
i've seen things like this on motorcycles before as well

I want this on my bike so bad it hurts.
But I read about how to do it on their site and it looks intimidating to say the least...

Not distracted enough while driving and texting? Frustrated because you still haven't unwittingly killed an innocent pedestrian or Motorcyclist? Try PimpStar!!!
If I ever saw someone trying to use this while driving I'd lob a brick at their head...or a cat. Cat's can do some damage when properly tossed.

they only work when the wheels are spinning. I can smell the next big aftermarket car fad. 28s that illuminate money signs and AK47 $$$. Awwwful but it would sell, sadly.

umm ok? That wheel is glowing as bright as a television--you could see that source of light from any direction. Anyways, If the bicyclist is traveling perpendicular to your moving car, and both commuters meet oncoming at an intersection, then the bicyclist is considered 'coming at you' and at which that point you would clearly recognize the Obama O illuminating from the bicycle just before you made him road kill.
