Last week, astronomers joined forces to participate in a world-wide event called 100 Hours of Astronomy, the cornerstone event of the International Year of Astronomy. The celebration included live, online tours of the world's best telescopes and dozens of sky-watching "star parties". New Scientist rounds up the best images that were released to commemorate the event.
