After weeks and weeks of behind the scenes testing, plenty of frantic story selecting and some seriously rapid editing, Upstream went live last night for the first time!

Upstream will be beamed into your tellyboxes Monday through Thursday nights at 7pm on Current TV (Sky 183.Virgin 155). It’ll be bringing you all the latest tech, games, film, music and weird science stories, comments and reviews that you’ve been adding to current.com.

There’s a quick breakdown below for new members of the Upstream community (and a reminder to the rest of you) of the current.com topic channels that will shape the Upstream show, as well as a few links to highlight the type of great stories that have been included in the pilot shows we’ve been recording. They’re great examples of cool stories and good use of topic tags.

*Tech* – This is the tag to add to your submissions that cover everything from the coolest gadgets and iPhone apps to the latest websites and trends taking the Internet by storm. Think more techy Interne, the LOLcatz and FAIL pics got shotgunned by Webmash.

*Games* – All the latest Gaming gossip and news; from games trailers, news about what your favourite games studio is working on to the releases you’re looking forward to. If you’re already using the ‘Gaming’ and ‘Video Games’ tags then be sure to add the ‘Games’ tag so they show up in the Upstream branded channel.

*Film* – Use this tag for all your film stories. Think exclusive photos that have been leaked on the web, trailers of the latest films right across to who’s rumoured to be playing the lead in the coolest upcoming films. If you’re using ‘Movies’ and ‘TV and Film’ tags, make sure you add the ‘Film’ topic tag as well.

*Weird Science* – This is for the weird and wacky science stories that make your brain hurt. You know, stories like ‘Can you have bones like Wolverine?’ and ‘The 2012 Apocalypse — And How to Stop It,’ maybe not so much climate change and earth issues, that’s more for the Apocalypse News feature in Webmash.

Current Reviews – Upstream wants your reviews of the films you’ve been watching and the games you’ve been playing. Head on over to http://current.com/reviews to find out how to get involved and start adding your text and webcam responses. Go on, there’s even a reward scheme!

Last, but certainly not least, the mother of all the tags, *Upstream*. Add this tag and your story will then show up in the main Upstream channel, where the most popular stories are highlighted on the UK Homepage! Click the Upstream picture above to land on the Upstream homepage.

So get adding your stories over the weekend and you could see your stories on TV Monday through Thursday nights, 7pm, Sky 183/Virgin 155.
