Twitter gets man arrested in Guatemala

Twitter, which helped to spread panic about Swine Flu, has gotten a Guatamalan man (a user of the social networking site; Twitter) arrested for encouraging fellow users to withdraw their funds from a bank and causing 'Financial Panic'. His tweet is currently being re-tweeted hundreds of times in Guatemala.

This is a perfect example of a country still coming to terms with the impact of social media - what sort of impact would that have made in the UK and the US?
