Yesterday we covered the Daimler investment in Tesla in some depth, noting that one of the biggest questions was the company's valuation. Given the sparse information revealed at the time, it could have been anything from $100 million to $1 billion. • "Thousands of jobs got lost in Germany because industry giants hold back innovative companies. Is this the idea behind the Tesla buy in..."

      I too suspect so.

"Better the American Bailout industry would finance Tesla to replace Ford, GM..."

=) As one bail-out tax-paying American, I'd SURELY agree to that!

    • Daimler Mercedes Benz stupidity pays for Tesla.

The current CEO Dr. Zetsche or Dr. Z (he called himself in PR for Chrysler) refused in 1993/95 the cooperation for a 7-seater electric hybrid car designed in Europe, as not necessary. The power train of this 7-seater B1000 would be able to drive a heavy Mercedes today.

The tiny Tesla car power train, in reality, never drives a big Mercedes. The Tesla pictures are excellent made, in reality the car has only the size of the old Honda 800 sports car for Japanese sized people, but not Americans.

Now Daimler late in take off for electric cars, featuring the Blue diesel (who in America likes to drive a diesel ?) pays for it's error. Thousands of jobs got lost in Germany because industry giants hold back innovative companies. Is this the idea behind the Tesla buy in. Better the American Bailout industry would finance Tesla to replace Ford, GM...
