A large internet service provider said data for as many as 100,000 websites was destroyed by attackers who targeted a zero-day vulnerability in a widely-used virtualization application.

I'd like to say I feel bad for these website owners, but when you sign up for an un-managed service without data backup, this sort of possibility has to be a consideration.
Hopefully these website admins were smart enough to keep their own offline backups.
