Poets are the presenters of the dream. Poets do have a place in revolution. Bob Dylan a poet, Robert Burns etc.etc. etc.
I only
truly
live
inside my
mind
the
only container
of
my
soul self.and how about samizdat------please-no poetry-no life.

this is an example of why the opposition failed. Spirituality and Poetry have little place when in a fight with a totalitarian regime.
Successful Revolution requires analog practices. Hard ruthless men and Guns. the poets can come later to make sense of it all.

Rumi's too long for twittering. Baghestani's haiku-like impressions are much more efficient and effective just now.

Meanwhile, let's remember what Mossadeq said 46 years ago: "No nation goes anywhere under the shadow of dictatorship."

Rumi is one of my favorites . There is more wisdom in poetry , than in all the religions of the world . Simply because poets love freedom and despise domination . So they speak truth from the heart .

Come, come, whoever you are.
Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn't matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow
a thousand times
Come, yet again, come, come.Rumi

poetry by Rumi
O you who've gone on pilgrimage -
where are you, where, oh where?
Here, here is the Beloved!
Oh come now, come, oh come!
Your friend, he is your neighbor,
he is next to your wall -
You, erring in the desert -
what air of love is this?
If you'd see the Beloved's
form without any form -
You are the house, the master,
You are the Kaaba, you! . . .
Where is a bunch of roses,
if you would be this garden?
Where, one soul's pearly essence
when you're the Sea of God?
That's true - and yet your troubles
may turn to treasures rich -
How sad that you yourself veil
the treasure that is yours! - 2 years ago
