90% OF UK HOMES HAVE DIGITAL TV

A recent review of sales by Ofcom has revealed at almost 90% of British homes, have a digital TV.

The statistics of digital TVin 18 million households, 89.2%, a DTV receiver.

Digital video recorders, that can store, pause, or rewind live TV, are also proving popular.

Ofcom also reports that one million were sold in the first three months of 2009, taking the total in UK homes to 8.9 million.

    • What distorts these figures though in favour of digital switchover is that it's about houses that have at least ONE receiver, when many households have more than one TV - and I imagine bedrooms and kitchens have a much lower number of DTV receivers

      So switch-over is still going to be loads of hassle.
