Spotify have put up an audiobook into their catalogue, in a trial to see if it's a good idea. To answer their question: YES IT'S A GOOD IDEA.

Interestingly, the book they've chosen to put up is Chris Anderson's new book, "Free: The Future of a Radical Price" - a book about the "Freemium" business model used by tech companies like... Spotify.

I really hope they stick with audiobooks - if they put enough on there my menial data entry part-time-job will get a whole lot more interesting.

    • I tend to listen to the free short fictions, be interesting to see if free full audio books would work. Recall you could listen to Gaiman reading the Graveyards books for free at one point online.

    • Still a good model to introduce, to an already topical and popular growing service. I used to subscribe to audible and link it to my iTunes account - but they became horribly expensive IMO.

    • Here's a direct link straight to it.

Audiobooks are best for listening to on the move and Spotify doesn't allow for that at the moment. Hopefully (fingers crossed) that happens soon enough.
