BodyViz software creates three-dimensional images from two-dimensional plates created by body scanning technology, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed axial tomography (CAT scan).
"This is disruptive technology that will revolutionize the way medicine is practiced," said Curt Carlson, chief executive of the Ames company created to market the body visualization software.
At an affordable price, too. Now if we can keep hospitals from charging patients $10,000 to use the software, and if they can create a version for the Mac to avoid crashing into the diaphragm, we should have a pretty cool deal going...

Sounds really neat. I don't understand if the final project requires you to wear "special goggles". It sounds like you just have a controller in your hands.

The software doesn't, but it was originally designed in a virtual reality cave, which does require special glasses.
