Audiowood is looking to breach the gap between cold, impersonal electronics and nature with their line of wooden turntables. They're also hoping to “sell products with eco-credentials including low-power and efficient amplifiers and products made from sustainable and recycled materials…and evolving towards absolutely sustainable carpentry, from raw materials to production methods and finishes”.

    • It's called capitalism. It's always been the case that most businesses have always been for going 'green'. The problem has always been that no one, until now, was ready to show how 'going green' would be profitable to the business as well as the planet. of course, no one was willing to say that saving the planet insures a place and consumers for business in the long run (no planet no people, no people no business).

    • Fascinating. I had to dig deeper into the original site to get more info: It sounds like this is an excellent candidate for reuse: old parts, old wood. But seeking and hoping are far from actually doing it, ya?

"I'm also seeking and hoping to sell products with eco-credentials including low-power and efficient amplifiers, and products made from sustainable and recycled materials. In fact, my own practices and products are evolving towards absolutely sustainable carpentry, from raw materials to production methods and finishes."

I think this just continues to show the desire and marketability of reconnecting people to nature in unusual and innovative ways. If I listened to records..and if the designer actually made these from recycled and reusued goods...it'd be hard not to want one.

    • ugly and stupid

Some idiot in a suit trying to figure out a new angle to market their crap.

This is nothing but the commodification of "green". Don't buy the lie.
