TwittARound iPhone app demoed - looking good?

richjm
A demo of a nifty looking iPhone app that combines Tweets with real-time location has cropped up on YouTube.

The videos accompanying explainer informs us that; "This is a video of the first beta version of TwittARound - an augmented reality Twitter viewer on the iPhone. It shows live tweets around your location on the horizon. Because of video see-through effect you see where the tweet comes from and how far it is away."

Thoughts, folks?

I think it could be handy for something like a festival (imagine hearing about a surprise guest performance just over the horizon) or shopping (handy way of finding out about sales in nearby shops) but it doesn't leap out as an app that I definitely need to make my life worth living. Unlike 'Pull My Finger', which is my sunshine in an otherwise cloudy world.

    • This could be handy at a massive Tech conference, when every Tom, Dick and Harry are tweeting and you need to know who's who. I agree with Richjm, it's not an app I'm not gonna be able to live without.
