Is Amazon the other BIG BROTHER?

"Retailers of physical goods cannot, of course, force their way into a customer’s home to take back a purchase, no matter how bootlegged it turns out to be. Yet Amazon appears to maintain a unique tether to the digital content it sells for the Kindle."

    • Sorry Stever. I figured that when someone made a Current article, the content they LINKED to was what the article was about. If I'm to be expected to follow every "source" link then I'd never find the bottom of half the topics I read about- hell, just try that shit over at Wikipedia and tell me how long it takes before you have over 9000 tabs open at once trying to track down all that crap.

Funny thing is, you take the time to tell me I'm wrong, but don't tell me why. Why is there more to it that Amazon completely staying within their own TOS that you agree to when using their services? How are they doing anything except business as usual, and why should they be labeled "big brother" except as a single (or perhaps a few) people being pissed off that they didn't read the EULA close enough?

    • just because amazon.com dosent sell the book that made the big brother theory popular dosent mean you cant find it somewhere else, its hard enough to censor the internet as it is. & one site, isent exactly big brother status.

    • Well, you should probably read the entire story at the New York Times instead of the mashdata link. THAT link is at the mashdata link.

    • From the details I can see, the only one to blame here is that idiot kid for not backing up his work. I fail to see any proof that this is the work of Amazon and not just the loser trying to make an excuse for not having his homework done...

    • You did not buy a book when you bought This online. you bought a E-file. books are made of trees. If it is not made of some kink of paper then it is not a real book is it?
