This is the one memory stick...to RULE THEM ALL! I can't even think of a reason to have such a high capacity. Photography shouldn't take that much room at the highest resolutions I can think of. I can't possibly fathom running out of room on one of those, so I can't stop wondering why they would even make them. Just to see if they could? That's as much as I can figure.

That's pretty much all the files I own on my key chain. Including E-mails. WOW

Whats up with the use of the term ''Magic Gate'' and the UFO symbol in the top right.... yeah Yeah, ''The gate'' is probably a reference to ''Logical Gates'' used in programming, but I beg to differ.....:)

Maybe they are referring to heaven's gate, haha. These memory sticks might get so big that entire universes will be created within them, hopefully paving the way for virtual reality, time travel, etc.

Judging how Sony prices their memory sticks, the cost of this will be in the thousand dollar range.

There is no 2 TB memory stick in existence.

advertisehere... Way to completely miss the point. He was basing his statement on the traditionally far overpriced prices from MemoryStick brand media... Which is always far far higher than the competition.

I'm putting my money on Solid State Drives/Disks, at least in computers.
Although, not anytime soon, since they are so expensive and don't hold a whole lot right now, but they load applications, games, and other data a LOT faster than any hard drive today.

As they say on /. RTFA.
"Now let’s not jump the gun here, as this idea is probably years away but it does give way to a progression of larger capacity Memory Sticks, including 64GB, 128GB, etc., will eventually lead to the capability to be able to produce a 2TB Memory Stick."
Yea, that doesn't exist yet, its just a format that allows for that much capacity. - 2 years ago
