No way in hell are we decades away. Humanoid robots are 10-15 years away. I know we've all heard this before, but technology is advancing at an exponential rate. What took the internet 10 years to get to where its at, it will double in 5.In 2005 this robot was only able to play music and roll around on wheels, four years later its running at 7kmh. In Three years this thing will be playing basketball with Lebron James.
Now I wonder, what kind of brain will we put in them? What kind of problem sets will they be able to solve? if we want them to be obedient servants then they have to be able to be as competent as a real human. I see it being highly likely that Biotech, and Robotics will become one, eventually humans will make the switch from our flawed bodies with unique minds, to perfect cyber bodies with our unique minds still intact (probably altered because we will have learned to increase our brain capacity as well).
We our becoming our own god, which is why much of the world is on its head right now wondering what we are going to do with our new powers. How will we benefit from this new power? How will our lives change? What is our new role within this Universe if we can change the very building blocks which make us, us? What new form will god now take if we can create and destroy on the same level?

You forgot to ask how we stop them from taking over when they want to. That is the Question.

This is cool if you ask me. But we are many decades away from actually having humanoid robots that are common. It has taken yrs to train this single robot in simple things like how to speak and walk. I dont think there is any need for Asimov's laws here hehe.

Why does it need a Trigger finger? They can put a gun on it any where they like.

I think its kinda cute how it gets ready to run by running in place... But I still felt safer looking at Hondas robot falling down stairs and whatnot.
