Hearing Aids with music and phone compatibility

Australian company Cochlear have created hearing aids designed to block-out background noise and also connect with MP3s and wireless phone headsets.

The use of bone conduction technology, involves the cochlear implant being drilled into the patient's skull, while the wireless phone and music bits are worn around the ears (see image). The device can improve patient's hearing by 25 per cent. If interested, pateints can also purchase one of the "Fredom Accessories", whihc can be indirectly inserted into the bone.

The hearing aid has a price tag of AUD$6,000 (US$4,945 / £3,000).
