Jackass Alert! USDA: Oh no you didn’t!

In the last few months the USDA conducted "listening sessions" on the National Animal Identification System and Premises ID. USDA received a severe beat-down but somehow turned this into "substantial support" even though an estimated 95% of the huge turnouts were adamanetly against the plan.

Of course Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, and Collin Peterson (D) MN, who heads the Ag Committee in the house never made an appearance.

    • It is beyond understanding, as I have worked through these bills, how any organization could conclude that any benefit would come as a result of passing any one of them.

That leaves me only to conclude.....those at the top of the organizatiosn are complicit and are hopeing to save themselves by throwing in with the opposition.

This is, of course, only my opinion. But frankly, I can see no other cause.

    • I think this is the thesis statement;-"Ironic how the dairy and pork folks have their hands out for cooperative agreement funds (bribes) and many have signed MOU’s (memoranda of understanding) with the USDA. I wonder how these organizations will explain to their members how the government’s involvement in their industry was the cause of their financial problems to begin with…and they knew it.
